The Gallery..Two
This weeks theme was really a no brainer as I have twin toddlers. Then I began to go through my photo library and realised that two means way more than just my twins. Before they came along it was just the two of us.
Me and my Dodo, a little team. With an assortment of stuffed toys, but they don't count.
And then....
Two more sneaked in! More than a bit of a surprise, but hey life's funny like that. We got used to being a team of two but we had room for two more.
Now it's 2 + 2 = 4. We wouldn't have it any other way.

Things you don't see everyday
Popped out to have a quick foot massage (don't hate me!) left the nanny looking after Dodo. Twins happily tucked up in bed..all peaceful...Came home to find...cooking sounds...and an unusual aroma..

Our amazing Nanny Noy was just frying up some fresh bugs, as you do. Not so unusual as she is from Isan, but still not something I've seen going on in my kitchen! Noy declares that they are "yummy" and good with whiskey. Noy divides things into two categories "yummy" and "not yummy" bugs fall firmly into the first in her opinion.

I watched and learned as they sizzled in my frying pan, knowing that there was only one outcome to this discussion on the merits of eating bugs. Yes I was going to have to face the moment of being asked to try one.

To top it off I was being watched by Dodo. Not going to be able to insist she tries new things if I don't go for one of these critters with an open mind. So open mind and open mouth it was. It really wasn't that bad, in fact it was alright. Crispy on the outside soft in the middle, not the best thing or the worst. I just wished there had been whiskey involved.
The unexpected twist was from my up for anything Dodo..now bare in mind she is off school for the third day running and has had a fever! She pipes up.."can I try a bug please Noy?" Heart swelled with pride! I love that girl.

The Gallery...Drinks
When looking for pictures for this weeks gallery theme I was struck by how heavily featured in my photo stream drinks really are. Now before you all go yelling "lush" and demanding I seek help its not just the boozy ones! Coffee is also up there on the most often snapped list..mother of 3 yadda yadda...essential to ones sanity.
In my defence on the subject of the boozy drinks, I live in Bangkok. End of. We are just totally spoilt with my favourite type of inebriant, cocktails. Silly ones served in coconuts, classy ones that knock you on your arse after a few sips (see the Quince drinks list for details!) all cocktail life is here. Oh and it's cheaper than back in London..yup another excuse.
Another temptation here in Thailand is that you will always find something ridiculously morish and naughty to eat with your chosen tipple. Thai chicken wings are worse than crack.
It's ALWAYS Pimms o'clock
Although being a expat you always have a place in your heart that yearns for a good old Pimms..oh and a cider..save me a seat in the pub garden..Summer holiday U.K here I come!

The Gallery: Self Portrait
Shameless self appreciation in this weeks gallery. I am loving me. I am loving me better than I did when I was 27. I love me at 37. I don't just look better (er..but I do look better) I am better and stronger and smarter. I am pretty proud of what I have managed to achieve and what I have survived, I wake up everyday and remind myself how I got here. So yeah here you go..this is me! Yay me! Big up me! Go me!

The Gallery..Expressions
It's been a tough call choosing pictures for this weeks gallery as there are so many that I could have used. My kids are just the most rubber faced gurners you could ever hope to meet. Pull out a camera and undoubtedly you will be met with a full series of facial contortions...some pretty, others less so. I give you my darling gurners.
